Excellent Gay Foreign Films? Hi, I was wondering if any of you can recommend me an excellent foreign film centered on homosexuality. I don't care how old it is. Hopefully I can manage to find it.
I have only a couple preferences. I'd like it to be a "serious" movie and for the gay men to be a little older in age: late twenties or thirties. Older men just seem to portray a more authentic and serious love than teenage boys...to me, anyway. One particular gay foreign film I like is a French movie called A Love To Hide..very serious and tragic.
Lastly, there is a foreign gay film I've been looking for.. I saw a youtube clip of it ages ago. It was a military film, I'm guessing Russian. The scene I saw was when this guy (maybe 30 years old?) was laying down in a hospital bed, and this other guy dressed in a uniform kissed him. They talked for a minute and he left. Then the guy in the bed looked off to the window in deep thought. Sadly that's all I remember. | I just ran across a nice foreign gay film, Cachorro! here is a summary:

Juan was "Shirley Sherroded" by the Liberal Left...NPR jumped to conclusions just as Obama did with Sherrod.
None of you even bothered to listen to the rest of Juan's comments on O'Reilly about how we can't make rash judgments about people of faith...
Juan Williams responds:
"Yesterday NPR fired me for telling the truth. The truth is that I worry when I am getting on an airplane and see people dressed in garb that identifies them first and foremost as Muslims.
This is not a bigoted statement. It is a statement of my feelings, my fears after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 by radical Muslims. In a debate with Bill O’Reilly I revealed my fears to set up the case for NOT MAKING RASH JUDGMENTS about people of any faith. I pointed out that the Atlanta Olympic bomber -- as well as Timothy McVeigh and the people who protest against gay rights at military funerals -- are Christians but we journalists don’t identify them by their religion
And I made it clear that all Americans have to be careful not to let fears lead to the violation of anyone’s constitutional rights, be it to build a mosque, carry the Koran or drive a New York cab without the fear of having your throat slashed. Bill and I argued after I said he has to take care in the way he talks about the 9/11 attacks so as not to provoke bigotry."

Liberals, do you even realize how foolish you look here?? | | Agreed...Juan is not a bigot | Obama and Don't Ask Don't Tell? So what is the latest news about what Obama is going to do about letting gays serve openly in the military?
I thought I heard him say he would repeal DADT and allow gays to serve openly. This was from a CNN bews clip about 1 month before election.
Any body know? | President Obama now says he won't try to repeal the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on his own.
The Obama administration is telling the Pentagon and gay-rights advocates that it will have to study the implications for national security and enlist more support in Congress before trying to overturn the so-called "don't ask, don't tell" law and allow gays to serve openly in the military, according to people involved in the discussions.
Obama stated his opposition to "don't ask, don't tell" during the long campaign, and he included its repeal on the transition website's agenda of issues. The fastest way to make good on his promise would be tacking a signing order onto a military appropriations bill, which President Bush has done in the past.
But Obama isn't planning on taking that route. "I want to make sure that when we revert 'don't ask, don't tell,' it has gone through a process and we've built a consensus or at least a clarity of that, of what my expectations are, so that it works," he said in a September interview. Such a process, he said, would include "getting the Joint Chiefs of Staff clear in terms of what our priorities are going to be."
A spokesperson for Obama's transition team, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said only that decisions would not be made until the national security team is in place.
A slow approach to change, however, worries Aaron Belkin, a leading expert on the issue of gays in the military, who says it likely will prolong the process without ensuring success. In the 24 foreign countries that overturned similar bans, he says, not once was the process initiated by the military. An early Obama supporter, Gen. Merrill McPeak, has even cautioned against repeal in remarks that Obama declined to repudiate publicly.
"Even the most hardcore opponents in the military understand that repeal is inevitable," Belkin says. "But if you give them the option to weigh in, they will kick and scream for 50 years. Unless they are told what to do, the change will not happen." | Navy enlisted men only... About shaving head and "Manscaping"! ? Hi,
I am 29 years old and I want to join the Navy due to a variety of reasons...I do not have a college degree so I would be starting out at the bottom level, enlisted.
I look best when my head is fully shaved or setting number 1 with the clippers, because I am balding! Otherwise I look terrible! So I keep my head closely shaved or clipped at level 1 always.
I also usually manscape my chest and stomach regions with electric clippers every couple months. I used to body build and I shaved my chest a lot and so I now have thick hair that grows on my chest and stomach. It looks a hell of a lot better shaved. lol
Can I shave my head or have it buzz cut by the barber weekly in boot camp as well as when active duty in the Navy? I would imagine so since a lot of military keep their heads closely shaved? Also I would want to clip my chest hairs or shave them off atleast every 3 months so I dont look like a hairy monkey in the shower stalls or swimming or when I have to take my shirt off. Luckily I dont have back hairs! Can I do this and will I have time. Will I be looked at as gay or strange if I do this? Will I be made fun of in the shower stalls for having a manscaped chest? These questions apply to Navy boot camp as well as if I go active duty, Navy. Please only answer if you are a man and are in or have been in the Navy...recently. Thanks! | no. while in bootcamp you only go when they tell you to go.
as for A school..and beyond: command policy will dictate whether you can shave your head. some COs consider doing so faddish and thus against regs. One CO may have no issue..and another may not permit it at all. | I have been going out out with someone for 3 years. We have sex rarely.? He was sent to Iraq with the military last year and I found some strange things in his apartment. I had to pack him up. On his hard drive I found a video clip of some guy masturbating. I also found a cd he had burned that had a bunch of transgender males on it. He had titled some of them "The body I wish I had". I was horrified. I tried to get him to have sex with me before he left and he would get mad and say he was tired or if I asked what the problem was he would say it was him. Since he came back he has not kissed me and does not act like he is happy to see me. He still calls and wants to hang out and he bought me some jewelry overseas. If he is not gay he has some issues. Any thoughts anyone?????? Please help!! | He's confused. He doesn't know what he wants. But the one thing you should want is away from him. he is just not facing any of his thoughts of sex. Obviously he still cares for you, but as what in his life, I can't be sure. he isn't ready to let go of you yet, he isn't ready to come out of the closet if he is gay, but he may not be gay. Remember, the DVD said "The body I wish I Had", it isn't hard core porn, it's just about a body he wished he had. As far as the video clip of some guy masterbating, well that goes, a little further.
Truthfully, as you don't seem to be getting sex, which of course is something you want, I would say, time to let him have his videos and time for you to look for a real man who will appreciate you. Enough is enough. | Your opinions about this article... peace to all? WASHINGTON, D.C.- In spite of minor differences on the specifics, President George W. Bush
and British Prime Minister Tony Blair could not be any closer when it comes to their
commitment to disarm Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. After several hours of discussion on
Friday, the two held a joint press conference before sealing their friendship with a weekend
at Camp David. The two leaned in for a handshake, which turned into a hug and then drew
closer together. The major international news networks, covering the event live, paused their
commentary to see what would happen next. After an uncomfortable pause, Bush and Blair
allowed their lips to meet, finally dissolving into a storm of tongues and roaming hands.
After the incident, The White House issued an emergency press insisting that the President is
not "that way." Blair, who is also married and not rumored to be gay, explained that he had
become caught up in the moment.
Naturally, the press went wild with the story. A correspondent from The National Review Teen
Scene asked the British PM what it was like to kiss the most powerful man in the free world.
"His mouth tasted a bit like crude oil," admitted Blair, "although honestly I don't know
why."
Against the advice of Chief of Staff Andrew Card, Bush was very open about the event. Bush
explained to reporters that the kiss was really no big deal. "Come on, we all experimented a
little at Bible camp growing up. Um, not that I did, but everybody generally."
The reaction from traditionally homophobic Americans has been surprisingly tolerant. The
video clip, ripe for looping on the 24-hour news networks was pulled from the air only hours
later by popular request. Rather than pepper the President with questions about the incident,
they have quietly requested that he stop talking about it. Please.
"Plus, Tony has really soft lips. It's not easy to see until you get in close like that."
Reporters once again admonished the President not to rehash the episode as it tends to bum
everyone out.
This did not prevent some entrepreneurs from attempting to profit from the incident. By
Monday, email in-boxes had filled up with spam promising "OMFG! HOT, HOT BUSH ON BLAIR
ACTION!!"
Conservative columnist Laura Ingram told Tim Russert on Sunday's Meet the Press that while a
Bush Blair three-way had been a long-running fantasy, the actual event left her feeling
"creepy and more than a little ashamed."
According to the geopolitical experts we spoke with, it only makes sense that these two would
grow closer together in the midst of the current crisis. With Europe, Asia and the Middle
East all coming out opposed to a military conflict in Iraq, Bush and Blair feel as though
they have no one but each other.
Add to that the kind of repressed sexual curiosity endemic in England and Texas and you have
a recipe for tongue swashbuckling.
Other leaders have volunteered to kiss Bush in exchange for the kind of unconditional
cooperation and support that Britain enjoys. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon offered to
"grab on to those big ol' monkey ears and go to town" if it meant the US would stop talking
about a Palestinian state.
Bush spent the subsequent days reassuring world leaders and the public at large that he and
Blair are still "best buds, nothing more."
"The friendship between our great countries has not been altered by the events of the other
day," said Bush. "Let me be clear about this: nothing has changed. It is not going to be
'weird' when Mr. Blair and I meet again to discuss the issues.
That being said, Blair did leave Camp David early claiming that problems at home called him
away. Card says that, although the kiss really meant nothing, the President doesn't want to
call Blair right away in order to give him time to sort things out.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=rja6cqlCs… | I don't see why a person cannot practice sexual immorality and recognize that a) it is contrary to God's design for human sexuality and b) that the homosexual agenda of degraded marriage, a demoralized military, and a demonized church is not good for America.
Give hypocrites their due. They practice vice, but pay tribute to virtue. That's certainly better for them, and better for America, than the Barney Franks who want to bring the country down to into their sewer.
Cheers,
Bruce | A few questions for conservatives about where they stand on certain issues. All answers are appreciated...? It seems that one of the common tenets beheld by Tea Party supporters is that Obama's presidency marks a shift towards socialism and, by extension, a repression of liberty. So where do you stand on these issues?
Legalization of marijuana? Marijuana has been shown to be less harmful than both tobacco and alcohol.
Euthanasia? Why shouldn't one be allowed to end his own life? Recently, Glenn Beck attacked the campaign in Canada to legalize euthanasia by comparing it to Nazism. Clip can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFWOLSIhY…
Compulsory education? One of the more controversial aspects of the health care bill was a mandate requiring people to purchase health insurance. Conservatives attacked this, saying a tax levied upon inactivity is a breach of liberty, which is tantamount to socialism/fascism/whatever. However, in every state if you don't send your guyren to school you can fined or in some states even jailed--and as anyone with a school-aged guy knows, public education isn't free. But I've never seen Tea Partyers address this putative breach of liberty, let alone deem it "socialist."
Patriot Act? Yeah, I know, Obama didn't repeal it (and trust me, as a liberal I'm not happy about that), but I'm curious where YOU stand. Support it? It does seem like a much more egregious violation of liberty than taxes.
Gay marriage? In California a judged overturned proposition 8, claiming there was no rational basis to deny gays/lesbians the right to marry. Sure, it was democratic (70% supported Prop 8), but so were bans on interracial marriage in the South.
Travel restrictions to people infected with HIV? Upon entering the Oval Office, Obama ended restrictions of travel to those who are HIV-positive. This is a classic case of individual rights/liberty vs. the common good. Where do you stand?
I won't ask about abortion. Although I'm pro-choice, I think it's unfair to frame it as an issue of liberty, because it is plausible to view the matter as one of life and death. On a tangential note, I'm with you when it comes to firearms.
But I've got one more for you: taxes and the debt. Tea Partyers are very adamant about reducing the debt. They're also vocal about decreasing taxes. While the Laffer Curve does predict that it is feasible to reduce taxes and reduce revenue if taxes, it was shown during the Reagan administration that this was not the case. Reagan cut the top marginal tax rate from 70% to 28%. To offset it, he dipped into social security; nevertheless, his fiscal policy caused the national debt to triple. So my question to you is, how do you reconcile tax cuts with reducing the deficit? I understand you want to reduce government spending, but only 40% of the spending is discretionary (the rest includes things like interest on the debt, social security, etc.), and even if you cut ALL discretionary (including eliminating the military), we'll still be adding to the debt. | LOL - FYI - The purpose of smoking pot is to become intoxicated. You can consume alcohol without becoming publicly intoxicated. Public intoxication is illegal. When you smoke pot you become publicly intoxicated, Therefore pot should be illegal.
BTW - don't even attempt to make the ridiculous argument that people will promise to only smoke pot in their homes. |
