| Enhance my natural red hair? | Henna doesn't lighten hair, so you won't be any lighter than you are now. It's also orange-red, meaning in lower saturations and without a dark background it's more orange than pink (what a true red would be if less saturated) so even if you got a crayon color, it would likely be a secondary color ;) Henna usually only turns fire truck red on people that are naturally light redheads, ashy blondes or browns (they get the reddest reds), or have over 50% grey hair. Personally I think henna is just what you're looking for. For a medium brown, it's going to make you into a bright red auburn, and give you lots of shine. You should use body art quality henna, and leave it on for several hours to get more red than orange. It can't give you back your old color if your hair has gotten darker, but it will give you something closer to your old color. I think Rose's hair would be much lighter than yours would turn out. Test out a hairball from your brush with a sample of henna to see what color you would get. |

| If your hair has natural red undretones you do not have to add much if any red to a color to get it that red. When you lift color with a golden blond the red undertones will come through. If you want to add some red to make sure they do than get two colors. If you are a medium brown say level 6 than go with a 7 or 8 level golden blond (add some strawbery if you want but be careful you might come out real red unless you don't have red undertone which would be very unusual). If you wanted less red or to try to go back you would need an ash even a neutral with red undertones wouldn't do it. |
